Ipek Siyah Mantulu

I love this song so much! I love the way the choreography is developing. It is quite complex and it is taking some time to be set and learned in class. Turns out, the real name of the song is "Karsiyakali"

Download the version we are using in class here. This particular version is called "Ipeksi" by John Vartan. Make sure you buy the entire album "Spotlight on Belly Dance" on iTunes.

The lyrics:

KARSIYAKALI

Ipek siyah mantolu, beyaz beyaz yakali

Kalbim, kalbim carpiyor, sana sana bakali

Hem cakalisin, biraz da fiyakali

Ne güzel seysin, ne yaman seysin Karsiyakali

Karsiyaka dilberi, cok sevimli bir peri

Düstü gönül agina, seni seni seveli

Hem cakalisin, biraz da fiyakali

Ne güzel seysin, ne yaman seysin Karsiyakali
