Learn the art of keeping a balance between high energy and poise.
Learn to improvise and communicate with the drummer when dancing to a live drum solo.
This workshop will also greatly improve your musicality, improvisation skills and showmanship for all other types of bellydance music and shows.

A magical, joyous & ultimate expression of Belly Dance is feeling the confident connection with the person who is drumming for you.
When you feel comfortable with the rhythms and with the way a drummer plays for a dancer then your dance will grow and expand in many wonderful ways.
In this workshop you will:

Demystify the basic Middle Eastern rhythms and get familiar with their particular mood.
Learn to play and feel the rhythm.
Learn to respond to the drum with your body, using it as an instrument.
Learn groups of movements and accents that suit the rhythms.
Learn the art of keeping a balance between high energy and poise.
Greatly improve your musicality, improvisation skills and showmanship for all types of bellydance music and shows.

If you have never danced with a live drummer this is the workshop for you because you can learn something new and can learn by watching someone more experienced than yourself.
If you are a beginning dance student this is a great workshop for you. Blanca breaks movements down to their simplest forms using many wonderful and beautiful images.
If you are a seasoned dancer this workshop will expand your confidence and experience because the more dance teachers & drummers you work with the better!
If you are a new or experienced drummer this is also a great workshop for you. Carmine has played for many, many wonderful dancers and loves to teach drumming students of all levels.
For all dancers, if you play zills, or want to learn to play zills, here is a chance to learn tips and to practice with the drum!!!

Coin sash, zills (finger cymbals), doumbek if you have one (bring an extra one if you have!),
